Bob McCarthy is the Head of Retail Distribution for Resident.  Bob started the Retail channel for Resident in August of 2018.  After several months of program development and research, Resident proudly shipped their first mattresses to retailers in December of 2018.  Since then, Resident Retail has grown to almost 2,000 retail partner stores. 

 

Prior to starting Resident Retail, Bob was Chief Revenue Officer for West Creek Financial.  Founded in 2014, West Creek provides a point-of-sale lease-to-own option for underserved customers, enabling purchases of durable goods such as furniture, mattresses, and appliances. 

 

Bob has clearly embraced the start-up world but prior to 2014, Bob held several management roles with Tempur-Sealy. His career with Tempur-Pedic started in 2004 as a Territory Sales Manager in New England. He was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast Division in 2007, and Regional Vice President in 2010. Bob finished his tenure at Tempur -Sealy as Division Vice President of Sales. 

 

Bob began his career in the Mattress Industry with Simmons Manufacturing Company from 1998 through 2004.  He began his professional sales career in 1993 as an Account Executive with Roadway Express a Fortune 500 Transportation Company.   Bob obtained a B.S. in Business Administration at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 1992.

 

Bob also sits on the Board of Directors of Zachary Tompkins Memorial Fund.  Zachary was a close friend of Bob’s family and he passed away suddenly in 2010 at the age of 11.  The Zach fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to establish a football stadium in Zachary’s name and create awareness about Long QT syndrome.  Bob was active in coaching youth sports for over 20 years and served as an assistant Football Coach on the 2010 NH State Champion Hudson-Litchfield Bears. 

 

An avid pickleball player, Bob is highly ranked and has won multiple medals in both Men’s and mixed doubles.

 

Bob is married and lives in Hudson, NH with his wife Michelle and two children, Matthew (22) and Ella (16).
